Button it up

I know a lot of women my age who aren’t terribly fond of boring button up blouses, but have to wear them to work. This post is for you! Choosing a graphic print blouse is a fun way chase away the Monday morning blues.

Jewelry can be tricky to pull off over prints. Don’t go for anything too simple, or it will be lost in the print, but in many cases a big statement necklace will be too overwhelming. This chunky chain is a happy medium.

A heavy cardigan is a nice alternative to a blazer in any office. (Especially in Edmonton, where most places are air conditioned, even in the cold winter months!) If your workplace allows jeans like mine does, make sure your shoes are appropriately dressy. These leopard booties are a nice accent for any outfit. If jeans are a no-no, the look works just as well with dress pants or a pencil skirt. A good bag for holding your lunch, phone charger and other work essentials is the finishing touch.
